What must I do to be saved is the question asked in Acts 16:30. It is a question for all of us. Thankfully we have the answer in Scripture.
First, we must acknowledge that we are sinners under the wrath of God;
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Rev 6:17
The good news is that God has made a way for us to be reconciled to him;
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again so that we can have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
Jesus paid the penalty for our sins;
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Cor 15:3
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Cor 15:4
Jesus sacrificed himself as our substitute to bear the full penalty of death on the cross;
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Heb 10:12
Jesus took our sin upon himself and gives us his righteousness;
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2Cor 5:21
Jesus shed his blood for us to satisfy the wrath of God;
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom 5:9
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Heb 9:22
There is nothing you can do to save yourself;
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:8
You can not be saved by keeping the law, the ten commandments;
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Rom 3:28
You must repent, you must change your mind about any other way to save yourself and believe God, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ;
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. Acts 19:4
Faith is believing what God has said; believing his promise; believing his record, his testimony;
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:25
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 1 John 5:10
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11
Believing on The Lord Jesus Christ is putting your faith in him alone for your salvation; trusting in the Son of God alone; taking Christ as your only hope and way of salvation.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1John 5:12
What is the answer to what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31
The only answer, the only name given to us by which we must believe on for salvation is our Great God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ;
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus said;
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:26
