In The Game Of Life, It's Your Move
What is your game of life
Is it football with the cross bars draped in gold
Is it soccer protecting the goal ever so bold
Is it baseball showing famous pin stripes of old
Is it basketball played indoors out of the cold
Is it your young little leaguers a sight to behold
What is your game of life
Is it a musical talent keeping time with the beat
Is it that joyful voice singing ever so high so sweet
Is it the old base drum sounding to a fast downbeat
Is it angels melodious harps strumming to a heartbeat
Is it the uniformed bugle man sounding out that retreat
What is your game of life
Is it the evil one who determines to make your sins pay
Is it God's Spirit calling you from your evil ways today
Is it your faith in God's free grace showing you the way
Is it your commitment to come home never more to stray
Is it thanking the Savior's love for taking your sins away
Many years ago, as a teen, I stood in a street corner Salvation Army "Open Air " Meeting and gave my testimony, using ( Philippians 1:21 ) as my theme. Now, in my senior years, I look back and realize that scripture didn't really mean as much as it does now. Often times, in your youth, you feel you have the world by the tail and nothing can go wrong. How soon we realize that is not necessarily the case. But with Christ, all things are possible. ( Philippians 4:13 ) ( Psalm 62:11 ) ( 2 Cor 13:4 )
What is your main interest in life ? Is it sports? Is it music ? Is it sitting in front of a TV watching your favorite soap-opera ? Is it worldwide fame ? Is it getting rich ? Iis it just a simple an ego problem ? ( Romans 2:21 ) ( Philippians 1:23 )
Or,could it be a desire to get closer to your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ ? The Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, shows us his testimony in the form of God's inspired word. ( Philippians 1:20 ) ( Philippians 2:21 ) ( Galatians 6:14 )
Life is short here on earth ( James 4:14 ) at best. And only what is done for Christ will last throughout eternity. ( 2 Cor 5:10 ) ( 1 Cor 3:11-15 )
Do you remember this old Christian song?
"Only what you do for Christ will last ". Some of the verses say,
You may build great cathedrals large or small, you can build skyscrapers grand and tall, but only what you do for Christ will last…. You may seek earthly power and fame, the world might be impressed by your great name, soon the glories of this life will all be past, but only what you do for Christ will last. Remember only what You do for Christ will last. Only what you do for Him will be counted at the end; only what you do for Christ will last.
Remember !
“It is about the greatness of God, not the significance of man. God made man small and the universe big to say something about himself.”
— John Piper
