What are your eyes focused on?
Isaiah 17:7, Luke 9:62, Titus 2:11-14
Where are you looking? Are you looking toward God? Or are you focused on things of the world? It is easy to get your eyes on things of the world and the problems of the world. We forget sometimes who is in control and we try to control them our selves. When deep down we know that we cannot that it is beyond our abilities. We don’t like it when we don’t have the answers to our problems. And we most certainly don’t like it when the answer is not what we like. Or what we think it should be.
But when we give our cares to the Lord then put our trust in him he will give us the answer whether we like it or not. But if we use what the Lord gives us or tells us then we will be victorious. We have to put our trust in the Lord and allow him to work in our lives. He is much more capable of handling our problems then we are he has a view in our lives that we will never have. Just like with your children you try to teach them some things. Yet they want to do it their way even though you know that it is not the best way.
You may try to teach them that if they put their finger in the fire it will burn them but some times children will put their finger in fire. No matter what we try to teach them they just don’t under stand. They have to figure it out on there on. Then there are those that figure it out before they get burned. Our thing is we have to figure out how not to get burned. GOD is more than willing to take care of our problems. If we will let him! Who would you want to solve your problems some one who knows the answers or some one who is guessing? SO again where are your eyes focused on? GOD or the world!
Some times I think that The Lord is sitting on his throne with his fingers holding the bridge of his nose like this saying. My children you are not listening to me I told you to do this not that. Have you ever sat there when one of your kids did something after you told them not to because they might get hurt and then they did. Then they come running up to you as if they didn’t know that it would happen. Well I think this is what goes thru God's mind from time to time.
You can read all thru the bible where the Israelites did just what God warned them not to do. And what happened? God took his hand off of them. And every time the fell flat on their faces then called on God to help them. And like any good parent would he helped them. Our Lord and Savior is calling us are we going to turn to him or turn to the world? The choice is yours what are you going to do with your choice?
