It's God's Grace Not Our Works
On the cross for my sin He did plea
It was victory for me
On that happy day evil Satan did flee.
It was victory for me
For by free grace He did set me free
It was victory for me
As by my faith I received His degree
It was victory for me
Now I am living in perfect harmony
It was victory for me
Looking forward to the glory jubilee
It was victory for me
Crowns to laid at His feet hopefully
It was victory for me
Rewards to receive for a job humbly
It was victory for me
Meeting loved ones who were notably
It was victory for me
With my Savior throughout all eternity
It was victory for me
If you want to have some fun, when in a crowd of fellow believers, just reference a particular scripture verse and have them all give a simple meaning of the verse as it pertains to their to their Christian walk. You will probably have a different interpolation from each person present. Just another example of the "human influence" aspect of the scriptures. (2 Timothy 3:16) But what about our non-believing family and friends? How do we get their attention?
We can never work our way to heaven . We can never be good enough, on are own. Or we can never depend on a friend or family member to get us in Heaven. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Simply put, we must take God at His word, and accept His free grace by our faith in His plan of Salvation accomplished by Jesus' death on the cross.
You see, the one major differences between Christianity and all other religions is that all the other religions require that you work your way to heaven. Whereas, Christianity is a work of grace, not works. There is absolutely nothing that we can do to add to Christ's sacrifice on the cross. His work is sufficient! (John 19:28-30)
Likewise, this poem entitled "Victory For Me" goes along with this same theme. As believers, we all need "victory" in all aspects of our lives, from the inception of Salvation, to our everyday living, to our final Heaven's rewards.
Please email me (ccrobey@charter.net) for a free Christian music CD entitled 'Traveling To Glory".
Amen!
