'TIS THE SEASON

Our old fashion fireplace is now bare
The customary stockings are not there
The trimmings are not hung with care
'Tis the season
The joyful children are nowhere in sight
The season lights don't shine in the night
The big tree is not trimmed with the light
'Tis the season
The naughty and nice list is not scorned
The red and white suit is now not adorned
The big man's seat is now being mourned
'Tis the season
The church bells are no longer joyful ringing
The choir voices no longer happily singing
The bells have now stopped their dinging
'Tis the Season
The season parade march will not now go
The big school band will now be a no-show
The crowed street onlookers will not flow
'Tis the season
All the big crowds are nowhere in sight
For they have taken their heavenly flight
And it is now much to the season's plight
'Tis the season
So what is all this about they ask in disgust
So where the people disappeared is a must
So will they all come back again I indeed trust
'Tis the season

The Holy Scripture tells us that Jesus will definitely come back to earth someday. (Acts 1:9-11) (I Thess. 4:16) His return will be like a thief in the night. (Matthew 24:42-44) His coming will happen quickly. (I Cor. 15:52) All Christians, living and dead will be called home to meet with Him. (I Thess. 4: 14, 15, 17)

What if Jesus came back to this earth during our Christmas season? What a joy that would be! You see, He came the first time during the time that we celebrate as Christmas, and He could come back again the second time during our Christmas season. If this were to occur, as this poem demonstrates, we Christians would surely skip our earthly Christmas celebration, in favor of our real celebration in the sky! Amen!

Author's Postscript

The phrase “the rapture” is not used once in the Bible. However, it is the name that has been given to the occasion when Jesus will descend from heaven to fetch up His followers to meet Him in the air.

Believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. This will all occur in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye.

However, we should avoid attempting to determine the date and time of the Rapture. Despite many attempts throughout the years to calculate this date, the truth is we cannot calculate the day Christ will return because God specifically chose not to reveal this to us. (Matthew 24:36)

The bottom line, just be ready to go. Amen !
