PROLOGUE
It seems that a goodly number of today’s mainline news outlets are somehow becoming not only entangled in politics but also in religion and prophecy as well. Their instant expertise, on the subject of the perceived virus pandemic never ceases to amaze me. It’s a real rating battle, of sort. Enter the many so-called professional interviewed hopefuls who have given their various prophetic mindsets.
And raising its ugly head within these many views and opinioned is none other than the many solutions to this perceived pandemic. One need only stop, look and listen for any number of perceived predictive treatments and cures. Do this. do that. Wear this, wear that. Isolate here, isolate there. I’m sure you get my drift here.
“Where is God, in all this so-called pandemic mess”, I ask? Then, I answer, “where He has always been. In the hearts of all those who seek Him. Those who believe and except His divine existence. Those who ask for His help. Those who believe He will help. But then I ask again, “ why now, why so long, why so many?
A paraphrase that is often attributed to Alexis De Tocqueville—a Frenchman who authored Democracy in America in the early 1800s, may just help all that wondering.
“I looked throughout America to find where her greatness originated. I looked for it in her harbors and on her shorelines, in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and in her gold mines and vast world commerce, but it was not there.”
“It was not until I went to the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did, I understand the secret of her success. America is great because she is good, and if America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”
With respect to God, man has the idea of the Most Prefect Being. This includes the idea of existence, since a being, others wise perfect, who did not exist would not be as perfect as a prefect being who did, exist. Therefore, since the idea of existence is contained in the idea of the Most Perfect Being, the Most perfect Being must exist. Biblical writers both assume and ague for the existence of God.
And, man’s moral nature, religious instincts, conscience, and emotional nature argues for the existence of God. Since man is a moral and intellectual being, he must have had a maker who is also an intelligent being (Acts 17:29). “(According to in part, Dr. Charles Ryrie)
Ever stop to realized, that the last word in “Lonesome” is me. Is America now without Him” Do you feel lonesome, without Him, due to the possibility of another virus shutdown?
So, what about this sensed pandemic America? What about its long-time effect, if any, Mr. and Ms. politician, government official and religious representative? Where are you, and what is your position with respect to this so-called ongoing pandemic lockdown.
Well, please take a few minutes, sit back and enjoy yet another episode in the New Little King sequel entitled “The Lockdown King, A Little King Sequel".
“If you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, do not be amazed at the matter, for the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them.” ( Ecclesiastes 5:8)
This week’s tour of duty at the Bible college seemed unusually taxing to this old tired professor. Am I just getting older or are my prophecy studies getting harder? Anyway, glad to be home. The week end is mine now, to do what I please. First a bit of rest, then I’ll just see what’s next. Oh well, no time for the weary. I mustn’t neglect my Sunday Bible lesson on prophecy. First a little nap then I’ll get with it.
It happened again. I was right back where it all started, slap in the middle of my make believe, in my dream world medieval kingdom. In the center of all happenings, the kingdom square. The newly elected, king was about to speak. It was a sudden call, according to the officials involved. Let’s go listen in.
My fellow countrymen, as you know. I was surprisingly elected under a due struggle within our kingdom, of coping with an unknown virus disease which I unfortunately inherited.
My Royal Disease Control has decided that the only way out of this inherited problem is to isolate all kingdom citizens, away from each other. The only way of doing this effectively is to close down all public gatherings, including all businesses and religious church assembles. The only exception being the continued opening of the Kingdom package stores, as we will need their wines, and the other certain preventive elixir tinctures to enact certain religious ceremonial behaviors.
The RDC, and I, feel we need in-act this new order immediately. For this restricted movement is in the best interest of our public health and safety. So, let it be decreed.
I realize the cry of the kingdom will be lonesome and I do simplify with you all. Me included will be lonesome. But it’s a move we must take for benefit of the kingdom. With that, the newly elected king seemingly being under some sort of physical destress, opened the gathering to questions.
“The kingdom Observer, your Royal Majesty. I just have two quick questions. Will this new decree be considered a full fledge lockdown? And, are you considering this lockdown to be enforced the same as when you lock down the prisoners in the kingdom dungeon?”
Stumbling a bit, the King proceeded to answer. “Let’s just say it’s a lockup next question.”
Your magistrate, I’m from the Kingdom Free Press, I have but one question., Sir.
You failed to address the wearing of masks. Will this new decree require the masks?
Continuing to stumble a bit, somewhat at a loss for words, the King then answered, “Well Sir, the good book tells us that from the beginning of time folks have been doubting when the end will be, just follow the good book.”
Without another word this newly elected king quickly stormed off the platform, stumbling wildly as he walked off under the watchful eyes of his handlers. Thus, leaving all the kingdom news corps totally stunned in shear amusement, simply standing their bum fuzzed just scratching heads. Me included.
What happened next? How did the kingdom make out? Well, your guess is as good as mine. For again, my dream world came to a squelching halt. Why this happens, just when my dreams seem to be getting interesting, I’ll never know it seems.
I was home, it as if I never left, all snuggled in my warm blanketed bed. My open Bible and my lap top on my bedside table. Well, back to work I jibed under my breath as I whispered a little prayer of encouragement. I must hurry quickly and finish Sunday’s morning Bible study. Let’s see, where did I leave off? Oh yes, I remember now. It was my lesson on “Today’s World in Prophecy”
I do remember quite well my opening witticism quip taken from grandpa’s sermon archives. They will love it.
“Prophecy can sometimes be a bit confusing. I’ll know the end is near when my favorite fast-food joint starts opening on Sunday.”
And what next? Was it simply another dream, another vision? Was it real? Was it make believe? Was it a divinely placed vision? Well, all of the above. Amen!
EPILOGUE
Seems this old God Created universe is now moving faster than ever, as it moves on its everlasting path. A lot is happened. Happening with in worlds, kingdoms, and the populist.
What’s happened to this great country of ours. The land of the free, the home of the brave. Are we really free, are we really brave. Read the newspaper, tuned in the television, listened to talk radio, surface the internet, talked to your next-door friend, even listen to your preacher lately. Nonetheless, I still hold to that old cliché of “In God We Trust.”
Well, to be frank, I’m kind of spent out, after composing yet another episode of the Little King sequel. You may also feel the same, after reading the previous issues. I trust and pray that you enjoyed them and could related to them all.
However, I still love writing fiction parables, those earthly stores with a heavenly meaning. When I’m on a roll, the words seem to jump quickly from mind to paper, as if by divine guidance. I trust and pray this providence care continues, as we surely need a wakeup call now and then.
So, good bye for now. Read convincingly, live purposely, and trust your Creator of the universe, in all matters of spiritual lead concern. And oh yes, don’t forget the Scriptures in your reading repertoire. Amen! (2 Timothy 3:16-17) ( 2 Peter 1:20-21)
