Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Now come to the table and just pull up your chair
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
As we wait on Gramps to give his famous prayer
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Listen to all those clanging dishes as food is near
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Just pass the dressing and stuff is the call we hear
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Pick up that old bird's leg and eat without any fear
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Now comes the dessert as the young ones all jeer
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
But wait Mom is crying and shedding that tear?
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Why Mom is just so happy her family all are here
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
Mom knows all the family is in the Father's care
Thanksgiving is here, So let's all have good cheer
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100:4-5)
Every once in a while, I will get out the old family photo album and reminisce a little. One of the family's favorite pictures is the one of me eating that big turkey drumstick with that old-fashioned homemade gravy dribbling from my chin. I can still almost taste that treat dripping off the photo. What a memory!
We can never thank our loving heavenly Father enough. His loving kindness opens our eyes to the riches of his glorious inheritance. ( Eph 1:18) Where would be without Him? (Eph 2:12) Without Him, we would surely be hopelessly lost.
You see, we are all blessed to be living in this great country of ours. How many times do we just stop and thank our all-powerful, all-knowing Creator for all the blessings He has bestowed upon on us? ( Psalm 27:8) He has blessed us with family, friends, and neighbors.
So when you sit down to that traditional Thanksgiving feast, take a moment and stop to thank Him for all His blessings, especially this time of the year. (Psalm 8:3-9)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
