I was 13 yrs. old living in the church parsonage back in the 50's. An elderly couple lived across the street from he front doors of the church. A church member walked across the street and invited the couple to come over to the Wed. eve. service to which Mr. Nicholes replied; thank you, we will sit in the back yard and listen to your music as the doors were open on that warm Oct. day, and we will come to church just as soon as I get the soy beans harvested. Later that night as I went to bed, I soon hard someone running across the parking lot crying out to my Dad who was the pastor, "Norman come quick, we think Bev's dead. My dad ran to the house and a short while later I heard him tell my mother. Bev died of a heart attack. He simply put off his salvation too long. Like the man who said I will tear down my barns and build bigger barns and say to my soul, you have much goods laid up and I will take my ease. And God said, you fool, tonight your soul will be required of thee. LUKE 12:20
