Have you ever felt insufficient, while struggling with life's problems? Well, I've been there and done that. Sometimes it's hard, when the pathway of doubt carries you down the street of discouragement. All Christian, if truthful, have also been there and done that. But, Praise God, His Grace not only saves us (Ephesians 2:8-9) but keeps us throughout eternity. (... For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5 NKJV)
In this poem, the words here and there become metaphors for accepted and dismissed. Nobody likes to be on the receiving end of that kind of judgment. However, the Bible tells us, "FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." (Hebrews 12:6)
It's neither here nor there
Is it a simple idiom
Is it a complex stare
Is it life its self
Is it too deep to bear
It's neither here nor there
Its neither here nor there
Is it a signal of remembrance
Is it a thought to share
Is it a nightmare to recall
Is it a dream so fair
Its neither here nor there
Its neither here nor there
Is it past or future
Is it a moment to care
Is it full of memory
Is it forgiveness rare
Its neither here nor there
Its neither here nor there
Standing by my Savior
Who's suffering forbear
Showing His forgiveness
My life to spare
It's neither here nor there
Its neither here nor there
A Heavenly futures mine
In a mansion foursquare
While I praise Him forever
There's nothing to compare
Its neither here nor there
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Growing up as a Salvation Army Officer's (ministers) kid, was quite an experience. Yes, that makes me the proverbial "Preachers Kid" or "PK" for short. Well, you might think being exposed to the Christian way of life, one would have an automatic ticket into God's kingdom. Not so, for, we all must come in by the way of the cross.
I still believe in that "Old Time Religion". I can't help but ponder those old "brush-arbor" revival meetings where the "Amen's" and the " Hallelujahs " echoed, as the spirit lead. Since retiring from my secular profession, I pray that God will use this compilation of poems to give encouragement and strength to the Christians as well as draw the sinner into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
I am currently unofficially retired, as a church layleader but officially I can never retire from being a Christian worker. My family and I attend a small Bible Church (Deerfoot Community Bible Church) in our city. Where do you attend church?
