It Is Not For Sale

I Kings 21:1-16, 25, 3

Naboth was a man of:
Character(Honest in his dealings with God and man)
Consecration(He was dedicated to do right no matter what it cost him)
Conviction(He died for what he believed in)
Conflict(Any dedicated Believer will face Satanic confrontations)

Even though King Ahab wanted his vineyard, and his life was on the line, Naboth said “This is my inheritance from my fathers and it would dishonor God to get rid of it, SO IT IS NOT FOR SALE. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT!”

King Ahab is a type of Satan that wants to take away from you that which honors God. Whatever it cost to get you to sell out, Satan is willing to pay the price.


I. Satan Wants To Steal Away The Truth, But It Should Not Be For Sale

Romans 3:4 “let God be true, but every man a liar.” God’s Word is Truth!

A. The Truth About Salvation - John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

-He has people believing they are saved by baptism, church membership, good works

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

B. The Truth About Satan - I Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

He’s not a force or a power, He is a fallen angel that is out to destroy us, our family and our church.

C. The Truth About Sin - I John 1:6-8 “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

II. Satan Wants To Steal Away Our Tongue, But It Should Not Be For Sale -

Proverbs 12:18-19 “There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.”

God gave us a tongue as a gift. We should use it for His Glory!

ILL. Ananias and Sapphire sold out their tongue and lied to God. They died.
ILL. Simon Peter sold out his tongue and cursed to show his denial of knowing Christ

ILL. A young preacher filled a pulpit for a Sunday. He was eating lunch with a family after church. The woman of the house was criticizing the former pastor. Then she said “Pass the roast preacher please, I mean turkey.” The preacher said “I’m sorry mam, you’ve picked him clean.”

III. Satan Wants To Steal Away Our Talents, But They Should Not Be For Sale -

We can call them gifts or we can call them abilities but they came from God. We won’t be held accountable for the talents we have but how we use them.

Romans 12:6 “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.”

Maybe you are talented to sing, others to witness, some to give above the normal giving, possibly a gift to teach. Satan wants to take that from you.

ILL. A singer that goes from church to the nightclub, A witness that becomes unfaithful in church.

ILL. Years ago a woman was a great soul-winner but she married a man that wasn’t in church and he got her out.

IV. Satan Wants To Steal Away Our Temple, But It Should Not Be For Sale -

A. Our Church - Satan wants to destroy churches. He uses good people in his effort. Members don’t come to church regularly. Some don’t give properly and they don‘t care.
Some stir up trouble. Others just do nothing. They don’t want to be involved.

Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

B. Our Body - I Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”

-This passage is not just for prostitutes that abuse their bodies. The believer’s body is to be given for God’s service.

V. Satan Wants To Steal Away Our Testimony, But It Should Not Be For Sale

Romans 14:7 “For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.”

-I read what Christians put on Facebook sometimes and cringe. I think that they must not remember that other Christians and even church members read their posts.

“Well preacher, we live in a wicked world. It is tough to live for God.”

Hebrews 11:5 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” (A short time later God destroyed the wicked world)

VI. Satan Wants To Steal Away Our Today, But It Should Not Be For Sale

People are selling out a Tomorrow with God For a Today with Satan!

Proverbs 27:1 “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”

James 4:14 “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

-If you need to be saved, you need to do so today!
-If you need to rededicate your life and get right with God, now is the time to do it.
-If you need to make a commitment to get involved in church, do so today.
-If you don’t have a church home that you attend regularly, why not consider us today?
