What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or, is it superman? No, it is our Lord and Savior, the living God. "Behold, He is coming with the clouds..." Revelation 1:7
Have you ever played the make believe game of searching out metaphoric characters in the clouds? Well, I've been there and done that. As a small child, I would find all kinds of images, none of which ever became true to life. But, It was fun anyway. As I became older and more mature, I came to realize there was a higher power, ruling not only the clouds but all aspects of our loves, that being our living God.
In the Bible, Clouds are always associated with God. And these clouds may represent sorrows, suffering or providential circumstances within or without our personal lives. Or, they may be given as a reminder of our joy in His watchful care of our lives. Even though no one has actually seen God,
"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us' (1 John 4:12), and ( 1 Peter 1:8) "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy".
We can defiantly say what a revelation it is to know that our various moods, such as sorrow, bereavement and suffering are actually clouds that come along with God! For you see, the clouds, are a sign that God is there for us in times of trouble as wells as times of joy.
So, what about your spiritual clouds? It's these very clouds that teach us to walk by faith. For you see, if there be no clouds in our lives, we probably would not grow in God's grace by walking by faith.
"And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him". (Hebrews 11:6).
Like that child living in the imagery world of make believe, God's purpose for our lives is to use these clouds of faith to simplify our beliefs and our trust in Him. Until the circumstances of our lives simply become cloudless shadows, in light of our faith in God, the clouds of darkness will remain with us.
How's your relationship with the living God?
Is there anyone except Jesus in your clouds?
Unlike the childhood make believe clouds, your life clouds are real and will only get darker until you realize that Jesus is the only one who may turn your dark clouds into the proverbial "silver lining" clouds. In other words, God stands ready and willing to except your "faith" and give you the free gift of "Salvation" through His saving Grace.
" For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).
And, not only will God save you through His Grace, but His grace is sufficient to keep you as He meets your needs.
"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”(2 Corinthians 12:9)
So, next time you see those clouds in God's heaven, don't be alarmed. They are only a reminder of our all powerful God, in whom we serve. And, if you stand and look long enough, you might even see God returning to take you home to Glory.
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) and (John 14:-3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Hallelujah.
I am a retired Church Lay Leader, specializing in freelance Christian writings, with a strong evangelistic message. I pray my publications will always center around the Lords Commissioning, as outlined in (Acts 1:8). I feel strongly that in today’s hectic stressful environment, more than any other period of time, Gods peace continues to ring true and is freely available to all. My family and I are currently active in a small Independent Bible Church (Deerfoot Community Bible Church, Trussville AL).
May God Bless You
