Jump Boy, I'll catch you.
I will Trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When my sins are too great for me to bear
I come to Your alter and find You are there
I will trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When my mountains turn to valleys of despair
I look to Your Word and see that You still care
I will trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When all life comes crashing down on me
I look up to Heaven and Your cross I see
I will trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When my feelings for others turns to hate
I look to Your scarred hands to feel my mistake
I will trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When my senior years show my old regret
I look to Your Spirit and see my new asset
I will trust in Thee Lord, I will trust in Thee
When life's journey swiftly comes in an end
I will trust Your promises as my eternal friend
When but a small lad, Dad would often times set me on a table top and then give his famous cliché, "jump boy, jump, I'll catch you". And he never failed. Is this not like our Heavenly Father? We must take that leap of faith and trust His faithful results.
Today, more than ever before, we who claim the name of Christ must trust Him. You see, Jesus came to walk our walk and show us what we will go through, in serving Him. If Jesus tarries we too shall be alone, as we are tested in the last days, which are upon us now (2 Timothy 3:1-5, 7,12-13).
There will be no "church" to support us, and most, if not all, of our friends will forsake us just as Jesus' closest friends forsook Him (John 16:31-31). We will have to depend entirely on our Heavenly Father for support. Yes, we will needs trust Him, in all that we do (Isaiah 41:10).
How do we develop that trust in God? How do we get to know Him that well? There is only one way: through Daily Bible study and Prayer! (Philippians 4:6-7)
