THE HEAVENS TELL YOUR GLORY, LORD
Please meditate on Psalm 19 in preparation for this poem. Then, sing to God a melody from the heart.
The heavens tell Your glory Lord
I will rest in You
The heavens show Your work Lord
I will rest in You
I will rest in You my Lord
I will rest in You
For Your love is true my Lord
I will rest in You Lord
The nights show Your knowledge Lord
I will rest in You
The days speak Your silence Lord
I will rest in You
I will rest in You my Lord
I will rest in You
For Your love is true my Lord
I will rest in You Lord
When the storms be heavy Lord
I will rest in You
When my way seems lost Lord
I will rest in You
I will rest in You my Lord
I will rest in You
For Your love is true my Lord
I will rest in You Lord
CHORUS
Let the words of my mouth Lord
And the medication of my heart
Forever sing your praises Lord
May I ne'er from You depart
I will rest in You Lord
Yes I will rest in You
The love of God is greater still
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
This Praise & Worship song is taken from Psalm 19. In this hymn of praise, David reflects on the glory of God in natural revelation and the glory of the law as God's special revelation, which alone meets man's spiritual needs. Day and night the created universe broadcasts its silent but eloquent symphony to the glory of the Creator. Although the communication is nonverbal, only our eternal living Heavenly Father, can show such glory without speaking a word.
And at the Psalms end (Psalm 19:14), we have the famous benediction often quoted by many.
So, have you ever just sit and watched one of God's light shows, during a thunder storm ? Or, looked up to the heavens and attempted to count the stars on a bright moon lit night ? What a wonderful God we serve (Psalm 20:4-5).
