Who was the One who calmed
an angry sea,
and who was actually who
He claimed to be?
“I AM”
Who was the One who could transform
a demented soul,
Who had the power to make the sick
and disfigured whole?
“I AM”
Who consorted with the outcasts,
the ones society frowned upon,
Those who were disliked by the people,
yet still loved by the Son?
“I AM”
Who was the One the New Testament
was written about,
the One with the power to change us
from the inside out?
“I AM”
Who was the One the Pharisees
loved to hate,
Whom the religious leaders condemned
to a terrible fate?
“I AM”
Who was the One who already
existed before Abraham,
Who was willing to become
His Father’s sacrificial Lamb?
“I AM”
He indeed told us
“I AM” is His name.
And He and the Father
are one and the same.
