For He formed us from dust, and put within a soul to trust
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He sets evil spirits depart, when He sanctifies our heart
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He now convicts of sin, and cleans our soul within
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He agrees the time is now, His Salvation to you allow
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He will patiently wait, by Grace to seal our fate
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He will your faith accept, by giving the gospel concept
Hosanna Unto The Lord
For He plans the time span, to carry us home to Glory Land
Hosanna Unto The Lord
Will you come to Him today, for tomorrow may pass away
Hosanna Unto The Lord
"And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest"(Matthew 21:9)
Hosanna to the son of David ... - The word "hosanna" means "save now," or "save, I beseech thee." It is a Syriac word, and was a form of acclamation used among the Jews. It was probably used in the celebration of their great festivals. During those festivals they sang Psalm 115; Psalm 116; Psalm 117:1-2; Psalm 118. In the chanting or singing of those psalms, the Jewish writers inform us that the people responded frequently "hallelujah, or hosanna." Their use of it on this occasion was a joyful acclamation, and an invocation of a divine blessing by the "Messiah."
Have you ever shouted " Hosanna" in church? What would happen if you did? Probably "dead silence", I presume. I can't ever recall anyone shouting this in or out of a church service, other than maybe singing the word, being a part of a hymn.
Why not try it sometime, as the Spirit leads you.
Hosanna, my beloved fellow Christian.
