Holding On to Yesterday's Pain

by Clarice McClain
(Murfreesboro,TN,USA)

Lord, so many people are wounded by pains carried from long ago.
It hurts them so bad inside and it makes them feel so low.

They are so afraid and they don't know who to turn to for help.
They feel like they're alone and unlovable to anyone else,

We were once in their shoes, cried the tears they cry.
But still we do nothing but watch they give up and die.

Does it hurt us to say I love you or let them know there is hope.
Because somebody had to do the same for you when it was unbearable for you to cope.

We got to stop being so selfish. somebody out there needs your help.
Or they will continue to keep holding on to yesterday' pain all by themselves.
