HAVE YOU EVER FELT "NOT SAVED"

How Long, O Lord? Wilt Thou forget me forever?

Have you ever felt, "not saved" ? Well, join the club. And we are not alone. King David, often times found himself in the same predicament. As a believer, regardless of the extent of our spiritual maturity, it’s possible to reach a point so low we actually feel that everyone—even God—has abandoned us. That was David’s desperate condition when he wrote Psalm 13 (Psalm 13:1).

Yes, many of us have been there at some time in their lives. I realize the Old Testament Bible characters were not a part of the Church age. However, they still had to obey God's law and keep the blood sacrifices, for their salvation. Being human, David like us all, had times of doubt and fear. But, in the end he turned out all right, being a man after God's own heart. (1 Samuel 13:14) (Acts 13:22)

Now that we are living in the age of God's grace, we know salvation in Jesus Christ is not based on feelings (1 Peter 3:15) (2 Cor 5:7) (Psalms 119:105) (Romans 10:17).

However, I'm sure we all have had times, when we would wake to numerous problems, in our secular world. You see, Jesus could have calmed your storm long ago. But he hasn't. Maybe He just wants to teach you a lesson. A lesson to rely on Him, not our fears (2 Timothy 1:7).

Just remember, while on earth, our Lord experienced the same trials as we have. For you see, Jesus :was truly man but He was also truly God. (Titus 2:13) (John 1:1-14) Philippians (2:5-8)(John 10:30 )( John 15:26 )( 1 Timothy 3:16 )

There's an old cliché, which states, "Feed your fears, and your faith will starve. Feed your faith, and your fears will" . (1 Chronicles 22:13) ( Psalm 37:7) (Isaiah 51:12)
The following is a paraphrased synopses of King David's life, as portrayed in the book of Psalms.

Over time O how God's heart must surely ache
Ache those many years of Him I failed to partake
Wasted Years, O How Foolish
The years have slipped by like the still of the night
As I wrestled over and over with no day light in sight
Wasted Years O How Foolish
Night after sleepless night laying awake to Him I did cry.
Crying, yes crying hoping He would never fail to pass me by
Wasted Years, O How Foolish
If only father time had been so kind and seen fit to regress
Maybe, just maybe in You I could have passed Your gospel test
Wasted Years O How Foolish
Those restless days as I held Your precious Word ever so tight
Hoping and praying You would somehow show me what's right
Wasted Years O How Foolish
In those sad times when my earnest prayers I longed to bestow
When I needed someone comforts compassion failed to show
Wasted Years O How Foolish
O how my heart yearns to return back to those years of my prime
The days with no money but in Your love had a good time
Wasted Years O How Foolish
Longing just to belong in Your will anew now and evermore
By faith to accept Your free grace forever just as I did before
Wasted Years O How foolish
Now Lord what will it take to go back to my faithful gospel years
Having faith in Your will without having all those unforgettable fears
Wasted Years O How foolish
So as I awaken from my dreams has my life really been a fake
A fake, O yes a fake, for without You life's one big mistake
Wasted Years O How Foolish
For all the wrongs I have caused I now call to my Father above
Father, O Father please forgive me now and cover me with your love
Wasted Years O How foolish
Now I know all can be forgiven as the Holy scripture tells me so
Yet forgiving is far from forgetting for this I truly know
Wasted Years O How Foolish
For all those many restless days and fearful nights
Only my Living God can make all things right
