During the Viet Nam era I was stationed aboard a destroyer. On occasion we would experience rough seas, and the ship would pitch and roll, moving in a variety of ways. While sitting on the deck one day with my back to the bulkhead, my bottom and my back began moving in opposite directions. I looked under a protective shield and discovered a super heavy rubber "joint." As the ship would twist and turn the deck would flex and not buckle because of the "flex-joint."
Many times in life we need to be just a little more flexible.
