Eyes off the Prize

EYES OFF THE PRIZE

If I could just get you to take your eyes,
off the prize. (JESUS) John 14:6.
Then I could make you see,
that all those years you vested in him…
you should have vested in me.

What good has it served you, Exodus 23:25
you've prayed, you've cried and worshiped
all in vain.
And wasn't it totally pointless,
calling on you know
who's name. (JESUS) Acts 2:21

If I could just get you to take your eyes off the prize,
I can give you all you want,
self-indulgence, self-centeredness,
self-pride, pure idolatry and I've got plenty of that. Oh and

let’s not forget all the money,
cars and fame. Mark 8:36

But only if, and if and only, you say god
instead of ( Jesus's Christ) name. Peter 3:18

Well, except for in blasphemy or
in a little profanity, here or there.
Why then, it would not bother me… nor would I truly
care.

You could have so much more freedom from serving a
God that you cannot even see.
Because Life is really not about serving God.
It's really about serving you… and me.

I'm beautiful, intelligent and have
a variety of hosts who help me
do my job. Ephesians 6:11
Why we could both do without, this Jesus Christ,
The son of the living God! John 3:16

They say his blood, removes all... 1 Peter 1 18:19
your guilty stain.

And all you have to do
is call upon on his name...
But you don't understand
how that name brings me so much pain.

So if you could please, please just
stop saying, his holy precious name; unless,
you're speaking it slander, or totally in vain. Exodus 20:7

If you could just stop saying his name.
and talking about all the miracles and work he's done.
After all, I crucified him God's
only begotten son. John 3:16

So please just stop! Giving references
to his holy word.
Why...
I could tell you so many things,
things, you've never heard.

And I really do think we could become the very
best of friends, and I would never, ever want our kinda friendship to ever end.

Why friends are there for each other and I say that
through and through
so don't you dare worry about a thing:
In other words, I got you... boo!

I will never trouble you about
your morals, lifestyle or every little sin.
Because that's how you drive someone away,
and that's not a true friend.

So when you feel like you have no
one who really gets you or no one truly cares...just remember
you have someone, and I am always there.

No rules, regulations or none of that boring
bible talk.
Why I really don't care if you study the word. Timothy 2:15
or barely walk the walk. (ha, ha, ha)

And this is the way it is supposed be, so
let's just keep it to ourselves. And
go ahead and put that old dusty bible
back upon that shelf.

And please, don't believe when they say,
pride goes before the fall. Proverbs 16:18
Why if that were true, I wouldn't be here
whispering, to you at all.

So exalt yourself, Matthew 23:12
raise your head high for you stand all on your own.
You've got this thing all figured out
never mind, making heaven your home.

Why I've been roaming this earth for years 1 Peter 5:8
and there's nothing wrong with that.
I have no place to call my own, no
place to hang my hat.

So keep being wise especially, in your own eyes
And you'll end up just like me.
I will be so happy to have you by my side
for all the world to see.

You see, I am the prize, before your eyes,
and I'm hoping you'll choose me.
And that way, I'll know for sure together;
we'll spend eternity. Revelations 20:10

Believe in me (actually, I rather you not}. The greatest deception of the devil was making you think he does not exist. 2 Corinthians 11 14:15.
