A traveller came to the place of skull
feeling empty inside, like null
with a bag very heavy
of (repeat) sin, bad emotions, body sores
what in this world really we scores?
placing the bag of bad good-ie(s)
at the cross where Jesus did die(s)
and paid the sinner’s levy
grasped the cross with both hands
embraced it as if never to let go
then a last drop of blood fell
on his bag and it all disappear
his cry, God in mercy did hear
saved from shame and hell
Now his heart free
he look up and see
as he loosen both his hands
yet in his heart he let not it go
Jesus is not there. any more
like his bag also was before
he hear a voice
you are My choice
and as he turn he see Jesus there
standing in shining white clothes
and for a moment it is
if Jesus face turn in into his face
grace upon grace upon grace
he hear: come near, come here
do not stay in death’s clothes
come see how it is
as Jesus took his hand in his heart, soul
the traveling sinner once so foul
there was inside him a trembling
yet also a joy from deep rising
in silence they walked
and came to an empty grave
Then Jesus again talked:
see you; I did not only forgave
showing to the now empty tomb
but knew you from your mother’s womb
this I did for all and you
Look! I also won for you
the victory
over death and sin
complete my story
become alive and conquer sin
by my word and spirit
Then the traveler stood astonished
for he was much moved in his spirit
as he felt so deeply loved yet admonished
and said I was bought here for a reason
to see there is for victory, also a season
and that God’s love is always alive
mercy, ready to forgive and forgive...
and we can rejoice in His victory
for us and complete the story
in our daily lives, full of his grace
for any good or bad situation we face
(now if some-one realy care
about lost people in the world
is this story here told
not something to share and share?)
