Stephen, such a righteous man, stoned in front of Saul;
Saul stood by and held the cloaks, approving, not appalled.
He later will turn to God, and stand in times like these,
His sins forgiven, not by man, but his Father’s love that frees.
Do you stand by and hold the cloaks; sin dancing in front of your face?
Or do you stand up, weakness revoked, and show them saving grace?
Do you stand by and hold the cloaks when sinful words are spoken?
Or do you stand up, like ashes from smoke, so commandments may not be broken?
