The look of pain that crossed His face
Was more than I could bear
Because I knew because of me
He was hanging there


His eyes met mine and there was no blame
Looking back at me
There was only love, compassion, warmth
And so much victory


No words were uttered from His lips
Only silence there
But in His gaze I knew He said
Child I really care

I care about those years ahead
I want you close to me
I share my blood
I give my life for your eternity.
