PROLOGUE
Unless you have been hidden under that proverbial rock, you are probably aware of the struggles of our great Republic in today’s progressive world. We are faced with fighting for good versus evil, and for our providential Constitutional freedom, as opposed to the power of socialistic control.
In spite of all the expected and unexpected happens in America today. life is still wonderful, considering the alternative. Being now in my eight decades of life, older than dirt, and twice as gritty, I thought I had seen the best and worst of America until now.
Yes, it’s as my cool thinking, levelheaded, church friend Don keeps reminding me, “Your warranty has run out,” referring to (Psalm 90:10). Is Don modestly giving warning, or simply telling me to slow down a bit? Anyway, I get the message.
Fast forward to America’s current federal government which is considering a number of unconstitutional and ungodly laws. We serve a good, righteous and holy God, but we also serve a just God. So, is America now being punished? Is America under national judgement?
With respect to the national judgement possibility, two main unconstitutional, evil and godless laws which are of spiritual concern are currently being debated within America’s government. These relate to abortion and same sex marriage.
Respecting abortion, we know, according to Scripture, senseless murder is wrong and against the principles of out loving Creator, God. The law differentiated accidental killing from deliberate murder and required capital punishment for the latter. (Exodus 20:13) (Exodus 21:12)
All unborn babies are considered God’s little ones. I've been taken aback in particular by the broad opinions of many in the Christian world especially, since the Scriptures give direct reference to the sanctity of life. (Jeremiah 1:5) (Psalm 139:13-16) We humans are created in the very image of God (Genesis 1:26-27), and as such should affirm the value of developing human life. (Genesis 1:28)
Respecting same sex marriage, the Scripture is also very clear. You may label me an Old Time Religion advocate, but that’s all right since it's true. You see, the Scripture is very frank on the dictates of our Creator’s divine principles. Homosexuality is an abomination in His sight and the Bible is quick to present divine judgement respecting the condemnation of this and other sins. (Romans 1:26-27)
So, there we have it: a brief summary against both abortion and same sex marriage, from a Biblical point of view. It was wrong then, it is wrong now and will be forever wrong, in the sight of our living Creator.
Now for the connecting fiction parable, of a life story with a heavenly meaning. Was it a dream, a vision, or a real-life adventure? Whatever the reason, please help me be the judge. I will title it AMERICA’S NATIONAL JUDGEMENT.
(Romans 1:18,)” The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
I awakened today in a normal way, hoping to review our country’s stage as usual. Well, not actually as usual. Our Republic, the land of the free and the home of the brave, would be on the national stage again, having been transformed into a proverbial three-ring circus.
The so-called main line political factions were at it again, hot and heavy, within both the morning newspaper, and the television commentary. On the one hand, there was a concentrated camouflaged effort to circumvent the laws of the land. On the other hand, there was an open viewpoint of the same attempt.
The discussion was, according to America’s Congress, the two most important pending laws that needed to be enacted as quickly as possible were the "Freedom of Abortion" and “Same Sex Marriage” laws. In both these pending laws neither America’s founding documents nor the Bible were mentioned or supported.
So, I quickly put on my thinking cap, the one with the patriotic slogan, to take my routine morning walk. That’s when it all came to me. I asked myself, based on the morning news, “Oh, Self, is America now under national judgement? Has God given up on America? It seems that way, from a spiritual viewpoint, but obviously not from America’s post-Christian culture.”
As usual, while walking along, the right answer, according to America’s Constitution and the Bible, came to mind quickly, “Nonetheless, if you have been keeping up with American’s governmental affairs lately, you can clearly see that America’s Congress appears to be dead of soul.” Our governmental officials are obviously pushing these two new ungodly proposed laws, abortion, and same sex marriage, both of which are against the principles of our living Creator God. To this internal response, I proudly tipped my patriotic cap as I walked along. For I know who gets the last laugh. (Psalm 2:1-5)
Well, my walk ended quickly. As if by divine action, rain suddenly came pouring down, leaving me to run back home for cover. Now, I ask you again. Was this a dream, a vision, or a real-life adventure?
Nonetheless, it was over, as it had started, back home in the comfort of my own home. 'Alexa, please play the Praise and Worship patriotic channel. Thank you, Alexa.' I stood at attention and prayed out loud again!
"Is that you up there singing again, my dear?" my wife called.
"Yes, Love," I replied. End of story, beginning of service.
EPILOGUE
In George Washington’s address to the officers of the Continental Army, March 15, 1783, we see the following, “For if Men are to be precluded from offering their Sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invite the consideration of Mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of Speech may be taken away, and, dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter.”
So, I’m 1776 percent right that our living Creator God, will have the last word in this current ungodly civilization. I’ve read the back of the Book (Bible) and we (Christians) win out in the end. Amen!
We know from Scripture that our living God’s providence appoints both godly and ungodly leaders to affect His will on a particular country. (Daniel 2:21) So, why wouldn’t He appoint an ungodly leader to affect his National Judgement on America, and on His people?
What is “National Judgement” one may ask. Simply look around you, America. According to Bible history (Amos 3:15) (Colossians 1:28), judgements do not come about as a matter of necessity. Not necessarily solely due to governmental evil. They come because of sin. The sin of a nation's people will invariably draw judgement. (Genesis 12:3)
America is no exception to this divine rule. America will not escape judgement until it gets rid of sin. So, I ask you again, is America now under national judgement? Take on any number of intended or even unintended events such as an economic collapse, a weather emergency, chaotic insurrections, division within God’s church, and divisions within governments. And mainly, it comes from disobeying the ordinances of God. (Read the Fifth Chapter of Jeremiah) And what do you have, eventually? National Judgement.
“Furthermore, I have seen under the sun that in the place of justice there is wickedness and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness.” (Ecclesiastes (3:16)
May National Judgement be reversed? Yes, it surely may! Let’s all go to work, America! Amen!
“If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
My parting prayer. "Father God, I’m so unsettled within my spirit that my soul trembles within me. I know you are still our all-powerful, all-knowing Redeemer. I know you still place the just and unjust in authority according to Your perfect will. (Daniel 2:21) I know you reward good and punish evil (Genesis 12:3) with respect to Your people Israel. And I know from personal ongoing experience, that You love and protect Your own. (Galatians 3:26) Thank You for Jesus (John 3:16) and Your Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26) to lead me and guide me into all truth, (John 14:26) in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!"
